Description

S. kamtshaticum – Hylotelephium pluricaule – Kamschatka Stonecrop – This carpet forming, semi evergreen perennial from Eastern Siberia, North and Central China, and Japan grows 4-8″ tall and 10″ wide. It produces alternate, inversely lance shaped to spoon shaped, glossy, deep green leaves, to 1 ½” long, coarsely toothed toward the tips. In late summer, bears short stemmed, flat cymes, to 2″ across, of star shaped, deep golden yellow flowers, ½” across, opening from pink buds.

Grow in moderately fertile, well drained, neutral to slightly alkaline soil in full sun. Vigorous species tolerate light shade.Cut back spreading species after flowering to maintain shaped. Divide larger, herbaceous species every 3 or 4 years to improve flowering in spring.
