Description
R. maximum – Great Laurel – Rosebay Rhododendron –This open, evergreen large shrub or small tree is found from eastern Canada to Georgia and grows 3-15′ feet tall with an indefinite spread.It produces large, slightly hairy, elliptic, dark green leaves, 4-8″ long.Very late in the season it bears trusses of 14-25, bell shaped, deep pink to white flowers, up to 2″ across, spotted with greenish.Requires shade.
