this tropical annual grown as a vegetable produces palmately divided leaves 12″ inches long. Flowers have white to yellow corolla with red or purple base and are 3-7″ inches across. Edible pod fruit 3-4″ long.
Grow in fertile well drained soil in full sun
‘Green Fingers okra’ – matures in 50-55 days, and space 10″ inches apart – pick pods when they are 2-4″ inches long from bottom up, often, wear long sleves and gloves until you know how your skin reacts to foliage.
Prone to slugs, spider mites, whiteflies, fungal diseases, powdery mildew, bacterial diseases, and root rot.
