Muscari – Muscarimia – Grape Hyacinth –
M. aucheri – M. lingulatum – This easily grown bulbous perennial from Turkey grows 4-6″ tall. It produces erect or semi erect, narrowly sickle to narrowly spoon shaped, mid green leaves, 2-8″ long. In spring it bears tight racemes, to 1 ½” long, of tubular, bright blue flowers with constricted white mouths, usually crowned with paler turquoise blue, sterile flowers.
Plant 4″ deep in group in
autumn, in moderately fertile, moist but well drained soil sunny or part shaded
position.
