Galanthus – Snowdrop –
G. gracilis – G. elwesii var. minor – G. graecus of gardens – This slender, bulbous perennial from Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey grows 4″ tall. It produces linear, twisted, glaucous leaves, 2-6″ long. In late winter and early spring it bears scented flower, to ½-1″ long, each with 2 green markings on the flared inner tepals, and with long, pale green ovaries.
