Description
F. recurva – Scarlet Fritillary – This bulbous perennial from Southern Oregon and California grows 24″ tall. It produces whorls of linear-lance shaped, gray-green, often glaucous leaves, 1 1/4-4″ long. In spring it bears spike like racemes of 3-12 narrowly bell shaped, nodding, faintly yellow checkered, bright orange-red to scarlet flowers, to 1 ½” long, recurved at the mouths. Cultivation group 4.
