L. polyphyllus – This erect perennial from Western North America grows 4′ feet tall and 24-30″ wide. It produces 13 to 15 palmate leaves, composed of lance shaped, hairless, mid green leaflets, to 6″ long, softly hairy beneath. In summer it bears spikes, to 20″ long, of pea like, lilac-blue flowers, to ½” long.

slightly acidic, well drained, sandy soil in full sun or partial shade.
