Brassolaeliocattleya –
These tri-generic hybrid genus is a cross between Brassavola, Laelia and Cattleya, consisting of several hundred evergreen, epiphytic orchids derived from Central and South American species. They have thick, club shaped, sheathed pseudobulbs and 1 or 2 semi rigid, oblong to oblong lance shaped, leathery leaves. It bears richly colored labellums, and the flowers are mostly in pink tones are fragrant, and carried in short inflorescences arising from sheaths at the leaf bases.
Cool to intermediate growing orchids (see chart below). Grow in epiphytic orchid potting mix in containers. In summer, provide moist, partially shaded conditions and water when mix in almost dry, applying fertilizer at every third watering. Keep shaded and almost dry in winter.
Prone to scale insects, mealy bugs, spider mites, aphids, viral bacterial diseases and fungal diseases.
