Symptoms & Signs
The symptoms start showing in the following season, with the leaves turning yellow and dying back of the shoots. Several fruiting structures are seen near the base of the stems that produce spores for further spread.
Transmission
The spores produced in the fruiting bodies spread to healthy plants through wind, water, insects, and infected tools. They enter the plants through openings such as wounds and cause shoot blight.
