Appearance:
The wingspan is 36–47 mm. The colour of the forewings varies greatly, although they are typically brownish grey with a pattern of black streaks and dots. Males have dirty white hindwings, while females have dark grey ones.
Territory:
It is found in the United States and southern Canada.
Life history and Habits:
In the south, adults are active from April to September, whereas in the north, they are active from June to August. In the north, there is one generation every year.
