It is a nutritional disorder caused by the unavailability of calcium in the soil, high nitrogen, or the inability of the plant to absorb calcium through its roots.
Symptoms & Signs
The primary symptom of calcium deficiency in plants is the browning of the veins. It also shows along the margin of the leaves, which turn yellow due to chlorosis. The overall shape of the leaves resembles a parachute. Calcium deficiency also causes tissue death on the tip of leaves and roots. Tissue necrosis also causes stunted growth. Young leaves are more prone to show these symptoms.
