Symptoms & Signs The primary symptom of calcium deficiency in plants is the browning of the veins. It also shows along the margin of the leaves, which turn yellow due to chlorosis. The overall shape of the leaves resembles a parachute. Calcium deficiency also causes tissue death on the tip of leaves and roots. Tissue necrosis also causes stunted growth.
