Symptoms & Signs
The distinguishing feature of bacterial fasiation is the abnormal flattening, twisting, and swelling of the stems, which appear to be fused together. The terminal growth is especially dense, giving it a broom-like appearance. Due to the infection, the plants may die prematurely.
Transmission
The bacterium transfers through the water to other plants, where it enters through wounds and scars. It can stay on plant surfaces as well as debris.
