Description
Pisum –
P. Sativum – Garden Pea – Snow Pea – Snap Pea – grows 2-3′ feet tall and 3-4′ feet wide. The 1/2″ inch pea flowers develop into pods 2-5″ inches long.
Matures in 52 days, plant 5″ inches apart, pick peas in any stage you desire, plant produces as long as temperatures stay on cool side. You can also harvest flowers and leafy stem tips for eating.
Vines should be staked or trained to a trellis. Peas do best in full sun unless daytime temperatures reach 80 degrees fareheneit, so provide some midday shade.
